Veering from the pack, I actually liked the third one better than the second, there's something only marginally more realistic about this asinine plot than Durant wanting to sell energy guns that don't do anything more than the regular guns everybody already has. Plus, human drama is a little less crippled by a low budget than superweapons.

Darkman III: Die Darkman Die is perhaps the most enjoyable of the Darkman trilogy. Sure, it's still missing the style of Sam Raimi's original, but this one explored the emotional side of the character, provided us with a fantastic villain, and actually had a sense of suspense for much of its running time. Jeff Fahey is the main reason that the film works and is as enjoyable as it is, and if you want to see more of Darkman's story after watching the original, this is the one to go after.

I liked Darkman III less than Darkman II (which originally was supposed to come after this one). It just feels like more of the same (and while serialized fiction can get away with that, this installment doesn't have enough fresh elements to get away with it), and the movie takes awhile to get going and features too many flashbacks in the first act. Vosloo is a weak lead, which is a bummer since his nemesis, played by Jeff Fahey, is one of the stronger parts of the film.
