Darth Maul: Apprentice

Heralded by numerous irrelevant sci-fi websites as the best Star Wars fan film since that one with the guys fighting in a Walmart parking lot, Darth Maul: Apprentice puts itself parsecs ahead of its competition by featuring guys fighting in a forest (that may or may not be near a Walmart). What I learned from this (short) movie: Never run from an unbeatable opponent until he's killed all the companions you told were going to get killed unless you guys ran.

It's so great that something can inspire people to create. This is quite well done and enjoyable with good acting, especially with how difficult it can be to convey subtleties past so much makeup and prosthetics.

Darth Maul looks seriously dumb. Why the hell would anyone use such a ladybug looking shade of red? It's all pretty silly and boring. But only 17 minutes long, so that's good.
