The Nazi version of Mary of Scotland (1936)! Elegantly produced propaganda to focus on the evil of the English through Queen Elizabeth I's treatment of poor Mary Stuart the Queen of the Scots. One of the first films where Swedish actress Zarah Leander is directly involved in film propaganda for the Germans. Thankfully they don't grind it too hard and Leander drives the drama. She sings her melancholy songs and takes the insults dignified. It's a find performance in a well produced film.
