This movie is a let down after the first two films in the series. There is to much bickering between the characters in this one. There are a couple of interesting moments but overall this horror film is disappointing.

Flat and dull sequel is unfortunately hobbled by clear budgetary issues, and a cast who sell their dialogue like a melodramatic soap opera (Pilato's Nicholson-like Captain arguably comes off best). There's a germ of an interesting idea, with paranoia and claustrophobia the "real" enemies and the zombies largely sidelined, but the weaknesses in performances mean the build up is a dull slog to the gory finale, which is creatively designed but has no impact.

The hysterical tone is very entertaining, and the effects are super cool. Ending's a bit of a letdown, what with all the setup and tension in the first couple of acts boiling down to a generic need to escape, but that does seem to be a budgetary limitation and is ameliorated somewhat by Bub's...triumph? A good time as long as you can stand a lot of yelling.

Featuring fine performances, remarkable & memorable effects courtesy of Savini, & a number of intriguing themes & ideas throughout, it manages to stand out from its predecessors even if its not quite as strong. The characters are enjoyable & worth investing in, the story is interesting, & though it's much more dramatic than Dawn there's still some fun to be had. It does have its problems, but they're small. Overall, it's a solid continuation of the "Dead" franchise, and is quite worth watching.

The zombies aren’t the biggest threat, being yelled at is the biggest threat. Bubs has more personality than Mena Suvari does in the remake (reboot? Remake feels like a stretch). Opening sequence remains a favorite.

Boy they really let Savini go wild on this one - effects are fantastic. Definitely the weakest of the Dead trilogy but it's amazing how it still manages to feel fresh in a genre that's quite played out by now.

Portraying humanity, rather than the zombie horde, as the largest threat to itself was a smart move and an excellent departure from the first two films of this trilogy. The acting (with the sole exception of Terry Alexander's accent) is fantastic and contributes significantly to the film's absolutely vivid portrayal of humanity at it's breaking point. It's a great improvement over Dawn (although it still doesn't quite reach the heights of Romero's original masterpiece).

A zombie movie where the greatest threat to the survival of the human race isn't zombies, it's the people. Talk about perpetually relevant social commentary.

I remember not caring too much for this when I first saw it, but I was much more impressed this around. It lacks some of what made its two predecessors so effective, be it the social commentary or the overall impact, but still has captures their feel. Some of the conflict feels a bit forced, and some of the acting gets a bit hammy. However, it's ambitious, it elicits genuine tension and features some great practical effects. Decent.

I ended up loving this. It's not Dawn of the Dead or Night of the Living Dead, but it's for sure a worthy "of the dead" movie. Some of the acting isn't good, but Cardille and Pilato are both great as well as a few supporting characters. The Bub plot really helps make this a fairly unique zombie movie too. I can't recall a movie where I felt sympathy for a zombie like I did with him. It feels a little dated, but I think it holds up. Well worth a watch if you saw the first two in this series.
