For a dutch movie, it's admirable in production quality. It actually looks and sounds like a movie, something that's hard to come by for movies from the NL. But the problem, again, is with the weak script that is highly, carbon copy-style derivative and has their mind all made up morally and tries to force that thinking on the viewer. The acting, again is in varying degrees going from sub-par to downright awful.

An interesting dramatization of the futile efforts of the colonial power to hang on to the colony wanting to break free after the Second World War. Interesting history.

Dutch war crimes while fighting terrorism. I enjoyed the dark exposé if soldiers fighting in the East Indies but it got pretty dark when they started their campaign to rid the country of terrorists. I also disliked the flashbacks that were confusing and unnecessary. In particular, I disliked the final few minutes. Worth watching, but be warned, this is not for the faint of heart. It gets pretty dark.
