In my alt-universe world, this would be the little-known sequel to Misery, with James Caan playing Jan Rubes' role. I can't figure out why Roddy McDowell should be wearing ape makeup but I'm still working on that plot-hole.

Actress gets caught in a deadly game of cat and mouse Storyline is a little out there but enough to keep me guessing I had a difficult time with the ending because it's way to hokey Overall surprisingly good film considering it was made for tv

Decent performances and a solid, creepy setup that reminded me of Misery. Relies on suspension of disbelief a tad too much at times, though.

Mary Steenburgen is very good in this story of a woman in peril.

Good old-fashioned horror/thriller that's also not afraid to get a little nasty

The story is a bit contrived, but one only realizes it after the film is over.

Great, great acting irrevocably marred by action sequences harkening back to the 50s and a thoroughly illogical script that cartwheels over remotely believable series of events.

Nice throwback to an old style thriller.

Despite a predictable plot and stressing the suspension of disbelief at times due to an annoyingly naïve protagonist, this thriller thanks to Penn's direction and typical thriller score, although that score is too present at times, still makes for a suspenseful watch that passes the time very well.

I saw "My Name is Julia Ross" last year, and this film recycles the same basic story, but every addition that they made pushes the suspension of disbelief further. I wasn't too impressed by the cast either; McDowall was fittingly creepy, but Jan Rubes was not as charismatic or sinister as the role required, and while Steenburgen was fine as the lead, her double/triple roles looked more like she was just playing dress up. At least the setting - isolated mansion surrounded by snow - is good.
