An interesting idea for a horror film but it doesn't quite come off. In fact, it's difficult to imagine it coming off no matter who was making it. There's one bit where the Stephen-KIng-like protagonist laments that

Needs a rewatch. I wasn't paying enough attention and thought it was boring. Online comments make it seem like there are huge themes and allegories I'm missing. Maybe it's just not right for me. Cool ending tune. Fav scene: nun actress complaining about lines in a foreign language not making sense and hampering her ability to emote.

Lame story, but surprisingly good horror visuals in this nearly lost movie.
