Dear Ruth (1947) has no Dear Wife (1949), being a disloyal wife when her husband reluctantly becomes the political rival of her father. Some of the political quarrels where funny, but the marriage problems were off-putting. Ruth (Joan Caulfield) did not comes across in a good way, so not surprising that pair was dropped for the third movie in this trilogy, Dear Brat (1951).
