Deep Space

Close to z-grade as a horror film, but shockingly charming and funny with well-timed gags and whole scenes that come out of nowhere and (damn well should) win you right over. I think there are more laughs altogether than any Joe Dante outside GREMLINS 2. How often does something like this surprise with stuff like a Bo Svenson-type (in this case, Bo Svenson) seducing a date by excusing himself in the middle of dinner only to emerge in full Scottish dress, stockings included, playing the bagpipes?

Low budget but it has a certain charm to it that made it a fun watch. Also, Charles Napier is a very likable hero.
