Deidra & Laney Rob a Train

That was a very energetic beginning. For the most part, it keeps that kind of energy, often being rather bubbly and ultimately entertaining. If you go into this expecting anything more than a fun romp, then you may be disappointed. They managed to balance a caper film with a high school drama pretty well, with dialogue that actually feels like how teens would talk. Ashleigh Murray may not win awards for her performance as Deidra, but it was really good and downright entrancing at times.

Sydney Freeland is one of my favourite up and coming directors. She has a very apt way of handling poverty, especially poverty inflicted upon people of colour. This movie is just a blast.

This was such a fun movie given the premise of it. Excited for an NDN director to get some spotlight :)
