Demonic computer rapes woman: and gives birth to Bill Gates. Sadly this says a lot about Windows Vista

The next natural progression from Rosemary's Baby. What's more evil and terrifying than Satan? Answer: Microsoft.

Not bad, but heavily reliant on its premise being original and does very little interesting with it. The build up is slow and once the horror starts it loses all grounding and while initially the tradeoff is worth it, once we see where the whole thing is going it loses its lustre. The film's acting and narrative style is also one that doesn't do much for me, so there wasn't much to hold on to once the originality faded away. The ending has a uniquely creepy moment, but it also amounts to little.

Movie is basically if Hal 9000 wanted to rape and impregnate a woman to have a child. Brings up some interesting ideas w/r/t AI and what it means to exist, but it doesn't really do anything with it. It has a long build up that helped build a lot of tension, but somewhat squandered by going so off the rails. Side note: I taped this on TCM thinking it was Swamp Thing, but then this started playing.

Evil computers are one type of villain I could not possibly give less of a shit about, and Demon Seed reminds me why. Not that it's a particularly bad movie, but it's like what I imagine watching Richard Stallman read I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream must be like.

Sure, when computer acquires consciousness fist thing he wants to do is rape a woman. I could't watch it to the end.

Top badass moment? Proteus is one sick puppy. Nevertheless, he's also charming, highly intelligent, virile and (I'd imagine) pretty well off. In many ways he wouldn't be a bad catch for someone like Julie Christie. So I guess the kinky sex just wasn't for her. 1 decapitation, no cats or chainsaws. A giant, D20 Dungeons & Dragons dice somehow cuts someone's head off. Weird.

It is interesting combination of Hal 9000 and Skynet, and story who had a really big chance...but the way of stories and how it done it just down all thing (that cube for god sake!)...Shame...

I keep forgetting how much I enjoy the look and feel of these 70s sci-fi/horror efforts. This one had a strong idea as a foundation, but perhaps didn't develop it as well as it could have. While its execution didn't quite match its ambition, this was still a decent watch. Had a couple of nicely nasty moments, and was atmospheric in parts, put perhaps loses a bit of plausibility at times. Okay, quite often. Looks like Koontz novels don't get made into good films as a rule. This is fine, though.

Although this is a "body horror" type of horror film with a sci-fi bent, the real target here seems to be arrogant humanity. You mention Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, Jack Dorsey, Paul Graham, and Larry Page in your mind when you see these pretentious humans make a logical mastermind and then act surprised when it does not do what they want it to. One of the most disturbing films ever but well done and interesting throughout.

One of the most horrifying sci-fi movies ever with an incredibly frustrating ending. Gives Colossus a run for its money in old computer shots

Science fiction at the end of its tether, all very smart and self-conscious, but at this length very tasteless. Hitchcock would have got it into a television half-hour.

Good scenario, (may be a few more intelligent, thought-provoking dialogue could have been inserted, if there is not in the original source) but the primitive robot technology of 1977 really does not help. So, computer does all these things with that comical, mechanical single arm?
