Demonoid: Messenger of Death

Demonoid is almost a work of art in its incompetence. A whole movie of people walking into frame and forgetting what they're supposed to do and the director's probably off camera screaming FIGHT YOUR LEFT HAND DAMMIT. It still has its sinister, stupid, midnight movie charm though so go in for a laugh.

I am an idiot and without noticing watched the vastly inferior alternate version Macabra - all the kills suck and it's missing a great pre credit scene and ending. We still get to enjoy all the fun stuff with the killer hand so all isn't lost.

Surprisingly serious film considering the ridiculous concept of cursed hand. It does contain some nice Mexican locations and feels bigger scale than usual when it moves the the action to USA. It's all a bit stiff and feels a lot older than it's 80's release date might suggest. There are two versions of the film, but this US cut doesn't exactly make you rush out to see the international one. Edit: the other cut it's a bit worse (more boring, misplaced score that would suit a historical epic, etc)
