Charles Schine (Owen) and Lucinda Harris (Aniston) have noticed each other on the commuter train before. One morning their conversation leads to a flirtation which turns into an evening drink and then, before either one can stop it, a passionate one-night stand. But suddenly a stranger explodes into their world, threatening to expose their secret and lures them into a terrifying game with more surprises then they saw coming and more danger then they may survive. It's not that it's bad per se, it's just not all that good, which is doubly dissapointing because Clive Owen and Vincent Cassel are both awesome.

I'll make this clear: I rented this for the sole purpose of imagining Vincent Cassel naked----but I knew what I was getting into, and I can only blame myself.

starts off as standard drama fare, then proceeds to be standard thriller fare, and finally a great payoff for the last half hour, i dont want to ruin anything, just make sure no matter how off putting the first half may be you make it for the finale because it's worth it.

Uninspired. For once, in a B-grade thriller, the plot has sufficient depth and twists to maintain interest, but this time the delivery is fluffed on every front. The characters and their actions aren't even close to believable, and the dialogue is insipid and generic. Clive Owen is poor and can't even get an American accent right. Naïve directing serves up too much bread in proportion to meat, and the result is a bland, stodgy imitation of a recipe which only occasionally worked before.

Carpetgiant could clearly see the plot twist for "Derailed" coming from miles away, but can he see why kids love the taste of Cinnamon Toast Crunch? The answer is no. No, he cannot.

The movie would've been passable if Jennifer Aniston's character would've worked.

I didn't think the movie was that great overall, but RZA is actually a pretty good actor.

The premise is shot simply based on the knowledge that one assumes you'd cheat on Melissa George with Jennifer Aniston.

Good film , with a good cast. I'm a fan of Vincent Cassel , who just 'has the head' for this role and other rolls ( Eastern Promises ). The plot was good and surprising. The action starts after this plot development , and the last 20 minutes are packed with decent action.

Derailed: C by AkumAPRIME Every once in while you watch a movie that is not striking in any direction. Derailed was one of these. The acting was not award worthy and the characters were written to be critically stupid. The story was decent with a twist I didn't see until too late (though my friend saw it). The main character was written to be such a weakling, I couldn't identify with him. But of course the story line drives him to become billy bad ass towards the end, at which point you

Perhaps the biggest of fans of any of the stars might find something of interest here, but if you've seen your share of thrillers, you'll find Derailed never deviates from its predestined path to its predictable conclusion.

Despite illogical plot movements, suspect accents and less than perfect casting it somehow added up to more than the sum of it's parts. Oddly entertaining noir-lite.

show of hands whoever did NOT see that lame ass "twist" coming about an hour before it happened...? no one? thought as much. the original idea might have been a decent enough one, but what they turned it into is beyond ridiculous.

Pretty average. There are good parts but it gets awfully predictable, if only because the thing that happens is the only way the movies plot wouldn't be one of the dumbest of all time. Still the climax scene is quite interesting and the acting is pretty good which makes the film watchable at least.

This is an enjoyable film that just isn't very good. Owen and Anniston are really quite good. He's exhausted and deflated. She's funny and intriguing without being a seductress. You buy their affair and are actually a bit disappointed when Cassel comes in and takes over the film. He's fine, but he's coasting on just being generically menacing, and the plot becomes increasingly predictable and absurd as the blackmail scheme escalates.
