Desert Command

This feels like a cross between a western and a WWII serial with Wayne playing an extremely bland hero. I later found out that this was indeed a compilation film from a much early serial. The action is fast paced and fun even when its completely ridiculous. Dumb fun.

Chopped-down re-edit of John Wayne's last serial - The Three Musketeers (1933). I hope none of those that went to the cinema went believing it was a brand new movie by the superstar. They surely would have been disappointed. It was already a hard-to-chew serial when it was originally released in 1933, and by 1946, not even the smallest of studios was making productions this poor. Does manage to entertain a little with its adventure, but this is John Wayne from his lowest point of his career.
