Silent oater with Jack Hoxie. His sound career was mercifully cut short, but I'm always pleased with discovering his silent westerns! He looked the part, and as long as one didn't have to listen to him he was a cowboy hero to be reckoned with. Desert Rider (1923) is to the point and funny in all it's simplicity. They don't try to over-complicate things and what they do attempt is good. Basically a standard which doesn't outstay it's welcome.
