Where's the fucking story? And has the director heard of the "kick the dog" trope? The big bad is has more of a backstory than the god damn immigrants you're supposed to feel sorry for -- at least until the end. The characters are completely vacuous. The 80 minute film feels like 2+ hours it's so slow paced as well. I'll have forgotten it by tomorrow. Avoid.

Topical film nowadays, although more of a genre film than social message. Cuarón succeeds in making you hate Jeffrey Dean Morgan and his doggie a lot. I wish this was kind of movie where protagonist actually fought back, and didn't just run away for the whole movie. At least the dog met satisfying end.

Wow, it is rare that I watch movies so entirely devoid of a message. It follows all the clichés, too. I guess the talent for making movies is not transmitted genetically. Could have been quite the coup to get a movie about migrants into this year's Oscars, but this is not the contribution the immigration debate needs. Best thing about this is the Woodkid song during closing credits.

Got all the earmarks of a modern indie movie. The director has a firm vision as far as the visual atmosphere, but the rest is lacking. Especially the human connection. Doesn't have anything to add to the chase genre, nor a reason to make us care.
