Madonna trying desperately to prove that she can act...but she can't, which makes this horribly grating.

It's one of the most 80's Lower East Side movies I've ever seen, so that's good. Like the cinematic equivalent of a thrift store. John Turturro. John Lurie. Madonna. Steven Wright, for God's sake.

Personally my favorite movie and probably the best work of Susan Sildeman. Enjoyable story with a big look at fashion of 1980s. Madonna's performance doesn't suck either. Oh where is the magical time of cheesy 80s.

In 1985, the only way you could communicate with other people was through personal ads.

I can't stand Aidan Quinn, and nothing else here is really good either.

BlurayRip RARBG.

Great movie. I think only good movie that Madonna can actually say she was part of.

This is a fun thriller with a good story, interesting twists, memorable villians and likeable characters. Madonna and Rosanna Arquette are very good as the leads.

A guilty pleasure of mine. I love this era of 80's fashion, and that's what this is. Thrift store masterpiece.

Idiotic movie with Madonna. Cheesy. If you like of Madonna, go listen to their records, because his movies are pathetic.

Sort of an upscale underground film, inventively directed by Seidelman, though it doesn't sustain its buoyancy straight to the end.

The best thing about this was that Madonna was actually not nearly as bad an actress as everyone assumed she would be. You could do worse for cheesy 80's stuff.

A big heaping helping of 80s with trashy punk Madonna chomping down Cheez Doodles and a tour of New York. Honestly, I was more into Mark Blum's self-absorbed hot tub peddler Gary and his smart mouthed sister Leslie (Laurie Metcalf) as their moments were funnier than Rosana Arquette's naive, amnesiac bumbling or Madonna's too cool for the room posturing. Ultimately it's a decently paced timepiece of 80s comedy that quickly excuses itself from my memory

Did the world need an '80s homage to Celine and Julie Go Boating? I say... yes. Bonus points for giving us Into the Groove.

Essentially Smithereens remade as a romantic comedy. Messy fun, but not a whole lot more than that.

I'm unfamiliar with Celine and Julie Go Boating, but I do recognize these classic screwball tropes adapted into a 1980s alternative milieu. Mistaken identity, amnesia, a valuable macguffin, class consciousness. Amusing hijinks, if only very occasionally laugh-out-loud funny.

Very 1980’s I enjoyed this light hearted romp at the time and it still entertains.

The story isn't fresh or anything but the characters make this work so well. I'm amused how 80s NYC movies either make the place seem insanely violent or a wonderful melting pot, there's no in between ha ha.

A little too cheesy for me to like, but it was amusing enough while it was playing. I'm a Steven Wright fan, so maybe that helped. Maybe the 30s were better for screwball romantic comedies as they didn't have to stretch so far for a crisis in an untenable situation.
