This suffers from the same problems the first movie suffered from but more so. Plot changes make the movie feel really uneven compared to the manga, characterisations fall completely flat whereas in the manga they were great, the CGI is god awful and it feels silly compared to the manga which is dark, serious and gripping. It really just feels boring to be honest - though I did like the ending.

A movie with one million logic errors. (I dare you to count them!) If someone wants to write something clever, then they need to be clever at least, right? Come on! The story pathetically tries to trick viewers, yet it's full of mistakes! Points are only for L's funny mask though!

Another good adaptation of the Death Note source material. This movie takes a massive liberty and entirely cuts out the second half of the story. And the result of this is surprisingly good.

Rather fun. A battle of wits is a nice change of pace from the usual fights and guns. The denouement scene is WAY too long.

I don't know why I like this. It's just so goofy. Typical trashy manga stuff, where logic and consistency are completely tossed out the window. This one gets really convoluted... the constant piling on of additional elements simultaneously makes it more fun and more annoying. I dunno, I guess it's the cat-and-mouse game between "L" and "Kira" that makes it compelling, even though it's not handled particularly well. A bunch of nonsense, but I got into it anyway. I'm just not gonna question it.

Continues where the first one left off. Amazingly enough they manage to fill in over 2 hours pretty nicely. The story has a couple of slow moments but is all in all a pretty entertaining experience.

The first half is a seamless continuation of the first, maintaining the tension and mystery. The second half collapses under the weight of its own complexity, as the "rules" of the Death Note start flying so furiously that they're difficult (and tedious) to keep up with. But hey, "L" is in it!
