Typically inpenetrable but compelling Godard experiment; marginally more narratively satisfying than usual, thanks to the recognisable noir conventions that he is sending up (though don't expect anything resembling a straight forward narrative). As always with Godard, tolerance for the film will depend on your tolerance for Godard's challenging and pretentious style of film-making, but if you can accept his terms, the result is an often-times hypnotic experience.
