The Rob Schneider Project - day 10. Pandemonium. Our science team wasn't prepared for the mental effects of watching a film with Rob in the lead. Dr. West started gnawing his arm after 5 minutes and Dr. Adams just cried non-stop. I blacked out and regained consciousness during the end credits. In an as of yet unknown substance, I apparently wrote "SCHNEIDER. HE RISES. EVERYTHING BURNS" on the wall. Most disturbing of all, the surveillance video... just shows static. Schneider-annoyance factor: 9

Standard issue HAPPY MADISON production is a less painful experience with Schneider front and centre than, say, a late 90s Sandler, but outside of a few chuckle worthy moments, this is a fairly rote and leaden affair occasionally livened by the supporting performances (especially Forsythe and tourette's stricken Poehler). A shame that we never get to actually see Deuce's legendary mother!

This is stupid but it's got it's heart in the right place. My wife and I can throw this on every now and then and get a few laughs out of it. I can understand the hate for this film but I enjoy it so deal with it ... Don't make me He-Bitch-Man-Slap you!

Needless to say this is an atrocity but I admit that it can be hilarious in the "it's so bad" way. The funniest thing about this is that it made enough money for there to be a sequel. That says a lot about mainstream American audiences more than it does about Schneider.

Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo is an interesting film to say the least. Happy Madison Productions, Adam Sandler's production company's first produced film staring former SNL castmate Rob Schneider. With a weak premise and thin characters paired with the crude-stereotype low brow humor, this movie is an early blueprint to the Happy Madison friends of Sandler movie spin-off formula. When gross out sex comedies were making a comeback this film found its audience as a box-office success.

Rob Sneider will never stand on his own in my opinion. Every time I see one of his films all I can think about is how much funnier it would've been had someone else been in his role. Regardless it does offer up a few laughs but I can only imagine how many there would've been had it been Adam Sandler himself.

Mostly unfunny and utterly insufferable at times but if I'm going to give this credit; despite having a heinously wrong idea of how people with these disabilities function, it at least sympathizes with them and asserts a value of being concerned for their self-worth... even if the idea of their self-worth is patronizing and insulting. Hey, I tried! Rob Schneider movies are difficult to give any praise to because finding good things about this or most of his films is REALLY hard!

This is my favorite Schneider flick, and I'm one of the seemingly small minority that thinks he's funny as hell, I think it all stems from his silly skits in SNL. Lots of outrageous scenes and the flick is quite rewatchable, just not too often.

Gives you a few REALLY low brow laughs. But there's far better movies that dish out far better slapstick comedy. Avoid this one unless, for some reason, you find Rob Schneider really hilarious (I don't really know why you would though).

Eddie Griffin eating food in the whirlpool is funny. Rob tries to pull it off. The narcoleptic is amusing. Its not a classic though. He can never be Sandler or Farley, and he has not yet found his one flash in the pan like a Corky Romano.
