I'm not into super natural horror or creatures not of this world but the story was better then average and the special effects were amazing

It seems one thing and yet it is another.

I usually find horror movies stupid and boring but the actors and performances in this were superb. Amanda Schull was marvelous and provides a few priceless moments. The story was mostly interesting and engaging despite the religious diversions and stupid looking monsters. It was also nice to see Jonathan Frakes in his cameo role. Good music. Lots of story twists keeps your interest peaked.

bad movie

Been there, done it. Seems to pitch itself as a horror movie about small town religious zealots and morphs into a completely different movie which calls back to TV shows that did this same thing much better back in the 1990s. Jonathan Frakes cameo is the only worthwhile element.
