A noble film telling the origin of the Red Cross. Takes a broad scope and is well-crafted. However it does outstay its welcome, and could definitely have focused it's story a lot more. Christian-Jaque was a very creative guy, but here it felt more like he'd been handed a peace-time propaganda piece, if one can call that propaganda, rather than this being a heartfelt project from the brilliant director.
