James Bond rips a woman’s bikini top off and strangles her with it in a very tasteful PG way. It’s fun to see 70s Vegas, it’s just too bad what transpires there is pretty boring for the most part.

The first 2/3rds is mostly derivative & confusing w/ a romantic interest who displays little genuine interest in Bond & vice versa. Then there's a great twist that never goes anywhere interesting, which describes the last third: there are 2 memorably odd & gay assassins meant as comic relief but are likely to offend now & 2 initially exciting female asskickers who go out as LAMELY as possible. The evil "mastermind" is as stupid as Dr. Evil which is watchable in a so-bad-it's-good way

James Bond Project 2017: Although I referred to the early feelings of sequelitis in "Thunderball"(1965), I may have been too harsh there. At least "Thunderball" felt like it was trying to top the other movies with something cool and different in the underwater stuff, even if it was boring, here the last of the Connery films feels like a sequel coasting by with some half-baked camp. Despite being a fan of the cartoon duo of Mr. Wint and Mr. Kidd, Vegas and the oil platform, were a disappointment.

Definitely not the best Connery Bond. It seemed to start off strong with the great Blofeld hunt and the opening theme, but somewhere between stealing the moon buggy and the poorly executed, tagged on attempted murder at the end, it went over the top started to feel like it was trying too hard. I don't know if it was the meandering plot, the new Blofeld, or the unenthused (though still good) Connery, but it just wasn't up to par.

I won't say Connery goes out of the James Bond series with a bang but he does go out with a pretty good bond film. It's not Goldfinger but it's certainly better than a lot of the other James Bond films out there. It's got his trademark quips, great action, decent villains, some (ok a few) cliche characters and a generally good story. If you like James Bond, and Sean Connery as James Bond, it's really worth seeing for one last Connery Bond ride.

Diamonds are Forever marked the return of the original and best Bond, Sean Connery. And although his return is a welcome one, ultimately this film fails to recapture the enjoyment, scale and overall quality of the earlier Bond instalments. And it's arguably one of the weakest of the whole series. The Las Vegas car chase featuring the Ford Mustang Mach 1 is certainly enjoyable. But one too many silly set pieces, in particular the moon buggy sequence steer too far away from Ian Fleming's creation.

Far and away the worst Sean Connery Bond movie; it feels like a completely extraneous entry into the series that never needed to be made, as there's absolutely nothing about it to set it apart. The song is easily the best part. I found myself zoning out a LOT watching this - and I didn't find the tongue-in-cheek self-referential humor especially funny, either. A huge step backwards after the triumph that was On Her Majesty's Secret Service.

My least favorite Bond film, for Connery's bored, lazy performance, the ridiculous camp Blofeld who would be just as at home in an Austin Powers movie, and the film's consistent refusal to take itself even slightly seriously. I'll always inherently enjoy the Bond formula and Mr. Wint and Mr. Kidd are highly amusing henchmen, but overall I find this one an embarrassing crash landing after Majesty's bold ending. (Ytadel's series ranking: #24 of 24)

It doesn't help the continuity that Blofeld is played by three different actors across three movies -- and Bond is played by two! Second only to DR. NO as Freder's least favorite of the Connery Bonds, this one still manages to be diverting once in a while. Vegas circa 1971 has aged well as an exotic locale, the cliffhanger moment in the coffin is smashing -- and, wee-hoo, that Jill St. John does bring out the wolf in a guy. . .

It's confusing having Connery back after a film absence. And Blofeld is getting annoying as a villain, hard to see him living from that explosion so hopefully they move on from him. The plot is actually somewhat difficult to follow but it has a lot of laughs and Jill St. John was great as a Bond girl. Decent but forgettable with an overrated car chase scene in Vegas.

One of the weakest Bonds, due to some unusually sloppy filmmaking (some amazingly inept special effects), a relatively bland story, and Guy Hamilton's lackluster direction (one of the duller car chases I've seen). And Jimmy Dean hams it up badly as the quasi-Howard Hughes. Still, it's decent entertainment; Connery is refreshingly spry, Jill St. John, despite the flak she's received, is solid, and Bruce Glover and Putter Smith's double act as a pair of wordplay-happy enforcers steals the show.

The plot is a bit clunky and hard to follow, and Blofeld just isn't the kind of villian I feel threatened by. This is by no means a bad movie, but it is a dissatisfactory outing for the Bond franchise and not exactly ending on a good note for Connery. The last half hour of this movie is pretty good and even if the movie as a whole isn't satifactory, it does go out with a bang...literally and figuratively. I just wish Mr. Witt and Mr. Kidd had more screen time.

With a theme tune by Shirley Bassey and the return of Sean Connery after the failure of George Lazenby to impress in the role this film was off to a good start. Mix in the best locations so far a memorable baddie and some great action and this was always going to be Connery's best Bond outing.

The elevator brawl, the chase scenes, and Wint & Kidd were all great. Despite being as physically involved as ever, Connery seemed to be disinterested during the acting portion of the film. The plot also felt forced, and the Bond-Blofeld feud was stretched way too thin at this point in the series--although Charles Gray somehow topped Telly Savalas' impressive portrayal of Blofeld.

The opening song had me consider Blofeld's cat as the mastermind & I was pleasantly surprised with the double bluff with it later in the film. Diamonds Are Forever is my top Connery Bond film. The film ups the cheese & has a 70's sleaze to it. Kidd & Wint as villains who only utter puns & sassy M are great. The suspension of disbelief required for the visual effects extends to the plot. The sound editing is much improved. Bond's license to kill seems to be used primarily at abortion clinics.

With a clunky plot and Connery phoning in his Bond performance, this is not at all a worthy follow up to On Her Majesty's Secret Service. At points, it almost feels of B-movie quality because it was so poorly shot and directed. The dialogue is also, at points, cringeworthy. The only saving grace comes with the Blofeld character development and Mr. Wint and Mr. Kidd who are instantly creepy, perhaps even the scariest Bond adversaries ever. A poor way to go for Connery and a poor showing overall.

It really felt like Connery was mailing it in at this point and it really seems like Guy Hamilton has it in for American's by their depiction in the Bond movies. Wacky henchmen like Mr. Wint and Mr. Kidd are always welcome. Bonus points go out to Bond girl name, Plenty O'Toole. I thought the idea of Blofeld taking advantage of a rich recluse (ala Howard Hughes) was novel although William Whyte proved to not be so reclusive once he was freed. Best not to think too much about this movie I guess.

Easily the worst Connery Bond film. While I've described the previous Bond entries as rough around the edges, this is just unfocused in a bad way. The script could use several more drafts and then you could get rid of the campy tone. Still, Connery, even at his worst, carries this into the realm of watch-ability with sheer charisma alone.

Enjoyable Bond film which is generally played for campy laughs; feels closer in spirit to a Roger Moore Bond and indeed ushered in the Moore era. Strange movie, as the tone is different, the scene transitions too. It's like they tried to pass half of some quirky comedy criminal intrigue as a Bond movie, with goofy-clever tricks and silly colourful characters. It's almost being ironical, like they are screaming "look at us, we're camp!" with the disdain for it the Moore era didn't have later on. Connery seems a bit bored, the girl and Blofeld are clowns. The Vegas car chase was bizarre but interesting though. Still fun.

Connery is stuck in a goofy Moore-like caper involving flamboyantly gay assassins, and women that escaped from a Russ Meyer set with names like Thumper. Even resurrected, don't-give-a-shit-at-this-point Connery is watchable though as a kind of pulp thrill. He should have stuck to his guns, gone out with YOLT and let Lazenby/Moore deal with this mess.

The two baddies were pure cringe, but it didn't detract from it being the fun, fresh and exciting romp I was hoping it to be. Great having Connery back who's back to his loveable, witty self and some of the action set pieces scenes were both creative and hilarious in their execution. And I think I speak for everyone when I say we needed plenty more of Plenty.

Campfest is back with a vengeance, but this is mostly fun campfest, at least. The tone is, for a the most part, consistent and while the actual overarching plot is idiotic, it is at least well constructed so that it all builds up to the climax in a methodical and enjoyable way. The wordplay is inescapable, but not totally overdone and the smaller moments are the best part.

Diamond are forever, but I don't think this movie will be a popular one forever. This is one of the weaker Connery Bond films that I can remember. It is pretty funny though and has a pretty good bond girl in it. Some of Bond's one-liners are also pretty good. The scene with the girl named Plenty O'Toole was hilarious. "I didn't know there was a pool down there". The whole film is mostly unremarkable but I still think Connery is a great James Bond...

One of the lower moments in the Bond collection, but nonetheless very worth seeing due to the excellent Mr. Wint and Mr. Kidd, a pair of gay hit-men who deliver the only good one-liners the franchise has ever seen. They are both sinister and hilarious at the same time, and provide some decent moments, so yes, you should probably see this.

Fun but flippant, and ultimately forgettable film. Only the set designers seem to be taking this seriously - not surprising given how many Bond spoofs Hollywood had produced in the previous 5 years. The plot is surprisingly good but the director doesn't seem to care. The action and fight scenes are energetic until the rather dumb climax. Best part is I've already forgotten 1/2 the film - I'll easily be able to watch again in a year without remembering a thing.

Weak. 70s Las Vegas is possibly the ugliest place they could have chosen to shoot. Campy in the worst possible ways. Some seriously questionable camerawork. The gay assassins are horrendous and Bambi and Thumper are worse. Plenty O'Toole is intolerable. Not to mention it completely throws away the ending of OHMSS. +5 for "I didn't know there was a pool down there"

One of the better Bond movies. Credit goes to Blofeld, the eternal bad guy who really works well in this movie and adds alot. Overall a standard and solid story/scipt. Koodos for plenty o'toole,the most gorgeous Bond chick eva! (so far)

Connery makes a different kind of bond than I was expecting. He's a pretty sadistic tough guy and a woman beater at times.. Great theme song and probably the best 2 james bond badguys (Mr. Kidd and Mr. Wint) ever! :)

This is campier even than most of the Roger Moore Bond films, which is really saying something. Approach with caution, and only when in a very, very silly mood, or in a party setting with a bunch of other people present.

I think I like this one even more than Goldfinger. It's got a little more James Bond cheesiness, and a little more humor in general, but most of it is still reserved enough that it isn't full-on schlock.

I liked this movie. The preliminary Bond villain was a bit of a let down (the owner of the casino), but a lot of it is compensated by the supporting characters. I really digged the duo in this one. The plot feels a bit incoherent, but the action is great, and seeing Bond race in a moonwagon was funny. Also Plenty is the best Bond girl.

Bond villains are always silly caricatures. Metal hands, metal teeth, throwing hats, even gays??? Mr. Kidd and Mr. Wint are the worst Bond villains ever. And both the action scenes and the women are extremely dated. Both of Connery's comebacks are mistakes.
