A weak link in a series already marred by chiches and tired tropes. Here we see the main character lose depth and more or less become the two dimensional sassy jerk of an adolescent that he was in the first installment, but after seeing a little personal growth in the second movie it makes it all the more disappointing. The biggest difficulty with writing a character like this is that you can't sympathise with his misfortune and you can't revel in his achievements either.

This one was at least as good as the second one. Maybe slightly better. Not quite as funny though. I liked seeing more of Steve Zahn. Despite the title, the dog plot was very minor. This will most likely be the last entry in this film series, which makes sense, as the kids are already looking a whole lot older than they did in the first one. I still feel that this should've been a TV show.

Messier than last one. Summer vacation is not as fun as school scenes from other movies. Expanded role for Steve Zahn is nice. Few or no character moments for female characters, Holly is miscast.

Almost more of the same, just not quite as good.

I'd say the weakest one of the bunch. Nothing particularly wrong with this one, I just see little reason for it to exist. It doesn't really build off anything and I can't say I found it more funny or clever than the previous ones. I have a feeling the writers kinda just through this together and hoped it would stick, and at its best it's average, but extremely forgettable. It kinda sucks too, because I thought the first two laid a good foundation to build off of.

definition of wimpy is "spineless, weak, having an ineffectual character." so, yeah, it is a good title.

Legitimately funny, surprisingly enjoyable, and that hot chick from Jessie. All good things, yes, but none comparable to Devon Bostick's Rodrick. Someone get that kid in some more movies! Or at least an ASOB-type pop cover band!

I continue to maintain that the Diary of a Wimpy Kid films are among the most underrated of the past few years. They're slight, episodic and silly, but they're fantastically entertaining; I'd love a TV series based on these characters.

I watched this one but I know why I never watched the 1st movie I'm sure it was just as dumb.

I'd see another sequel, but I would implore the writers of the as-yet undecided-on fourth film to take careful notes on what made the first film unique among movies of its ilk. While Dog Days is still a step above most tweener pics I've seen, the series is losing the creative edge that made the first film memorable.

Alright, far too many. This summer film was a bad addition. Now you are going to stop.

The affable chemistry among the cast members is the secret weapon here, particularly Zahn and Gordon. It's no great shakes--less labored than part two, but not as sprightly as part one--but if you're a parent who has to sit through every damn kid-friendly hunk of junk that hits the multiplexes these days, it's nice to see something so untaxing and uncomplicated and episodic and relatively inoffensive every once in awhile. It's fine, is what I'm saying.
