Digimon Adventure

Perfectly captures the strangeness and confusion of first stepping into a fantastic world. Can be watched without seeing anything else Digimon - indeed, it aired before the TV series began - but many of the ambiguities in this are answered there.

This is completely different than the TV Show and stands on it's own very well. The story was nice if very short, the piece of movie used in the movie was a well known piece which fit at first but was used way too much for a 24 minute film. The TV show was like this story and pokemon mixed together, in fact they used parts of this movie in some of the flash back in the TV series.
