Disenchanted

More music than the original, but not necessarily always a good thing. Other than that it was a somewhat cute story that left me smiling at the end.

The cast is the brightest spot of this too-little too-late followup, with Amy Adams falling right back into Giselle like no time at all had passed and adding even more little things to the character. Dempsey, Menzel, and Marsden are all in good form as well, and Gabriella Baldacchino is pretty great as older Morgan. But it's so cluttered narratively and hollow-feeling that it never comes close to recapturing the simple magic of the original. About as meh as it could have been.

While the committed performances from the cast are admirable, "Disenchanted" doesn't live up to the heart and spirit of the original. The lackluster screenplay and subpar visual effects make for a disappointingly unmagical sequel.
