Tom Walls is actually a bit toned down in this 1936 effort compared to earlier romps. Darker voiced and more relaxed. Loses some of his appeal, but he's still a dirty man.... for a short while. Until he marries. I guess they had to tame him too with the moral strangle of 30s cinema. Thankfully he gets some help to make this enjoyable anyway with Cecil Parker as a jealous lawyer, Betty Stockfeld as the wife and a rare UK movie appearance from the gruff voiced American actor Eugene Pallette!
