It's from the era when they were still figuring out how to make movies with sound, and as a result it feels like less a film and more a stageplay with silent film style intertitles. The plot itself is an interesting and informative bit of World History, but the dialogue is poor, either being dull, awkward or, especially, in the beginning, copious amounts of expospeak. The only real draw is Arliss, who while not exceptional is certainly noteworthy in his portrayal of Disraeli.
