Great looking movie. The story itself is very silly. Perhaps I'm just not familiar with this particular strand of French sensibility?

It's super French and it's super 80s. So basically what I'm saying is, if I saw this my sophomore year of high school, I'd probably think it was the greatest movie I'd ever seen. As it stands, still pretty great, also pretty silly, but in a good way.

The crazy 80s. Very silly and very beautiful at the same time.

Damn stylish. A lot of cool set pieces and creative cinematography. Story is not as interesting.

I often wondered whether the film's stylistic choices, many of which now seem pastiche, were a generic product of the time (late 70's/early 80's) or a genuine trend-setter. As it stands, Diva is an odd crime-thriller with a decent romance plot and some goofy chase scenes. The acting is alright; the soundtrack is a mix of abrasive noise, piano tiddling and the occasional snippet of an aria. I didn't particularly enjoy the film, finding large spans quite dull, but it isn't a bad film per se.

French sex. Plus characters and plot devices that are chosen more for the images that they provide rather than how much sense they make. Worth watching if just for the style.

My favorite movie. It's got love, action, mystery, suspense, character studies, crime, punishment, redemption, mobilettes, music, drama, depravity, art, sexiness, and the coolest guy on the planet. A modern day opera that's not stuffy, but exciting!

Extremely stylish, sometimes too much so. The film's visual flair and character quirks are often too distancing, and I struggled to become invested. The best moments, beside the rightfully celebrated subway chase, are the scenes between Fernandez and Andrei. It's a compelling and unusual relationship dynamic. The thriller aspects are less engaging, although competently done. The theme of recordings representing a form of entrapment is interesting, but it isn't developed. Still, not a bad flick.

İstanbul Modern - Yer yer gereğinden fazla stilize olmaya çabalaması ve senaryosundaki zorlama noktalara rağmen, sıkılınmadan izleniyor. Ama bunun da ötesinde bir şey sunabildiğini söylemek biraz zor.

Stylish and entertaining, although it loses some steam during it's protracted and unnecessarily convoluted third act. Also more of the Vietnamese girl would have been nice.

The cinematography is great, but overall the film didn't appeal to me. It wasn't horrible. I'll likely give it another chance.
