Max Ophüls showing us the life of an 'artist'. Or to be more precise; The life of a showgirl. Drugs, sexuality, perverts and nudity. On illustrating the more dirty sides of humanity the film is quite strong. As far as the good side, it becomes too simple. This feels like a light romantic comedy with little substance except they have pushed in all the naughty stuff to try and make the story seem more delicious then it is. But sadly the flavors just doesn't mix.
