Divorce Iranian Style

We see the proceedings of a divorce court blending family drama, religious expectations and state bureaucracy blending into a labyrinthine mixture that shows that ultimately the judge has the final say. Things do happen, though, and it's an interesting glimpse into this strange set of cultural and legal expectations so close yet so far from what we're familiar with in the west. The best part of the film is the little girl whose mother works in the courtroom.
