Do pivnice

Another very cool short by Svankmajer, a little eerie but not overly scary, but definitely odd. This strangeness leads to a compelling watch.

Pure elemental delight.

Similar to The Flat, in that it presents an ordinary living structure (in this case, obviously, a cellar) that is surreally antagonistic towards any would-be visitors. As seen through the eyes of a young girl, it's quite spooky indeed.

Cellar demons seen from a child's perspective.

Svankmajer doesn't resort to the usual bits of childhood spookiness of going into the basement. Creates something scary out of the known and everyday.
