The early 2000's had a rash of idiotic comedy movies that always seemed to get the most attention. Amid the swamp of stupid, and generally tasteless movies only a handful are worth revisiting, and "Dodgeball" is a keeper.

Sure, it's stupid. Fat jokes, bathroom jokes, ethnic jokes, gay jokes, getting hit in the balls jokes... this is lowest-common-denominator stuff. But it's also smart enough to clearly label a huge chest of money "Deus Ex Machina" and almost certainly the only comedy in recent years to use the word schadenfreude. Not likely to become a favorite of mine, but I did laugh enough to enjoy the experience.

Hilarious movie. Although, my one complaint is I'm tired of Stiller being a gimmick character. I know that is his thing, and this was certainly the movie to do it in, but it just got really annoying here.

I love it totally and completely. Ben Stiller is in excellent form as White Goodman and Vince Vaughn has got to be one of the coolest guys because he brings such a casual everyman quality to his roles. He gives this movie reality while Ben Stiller goes over the top. The ensemble cast is also very strong especially Stephen Root, Rip Torn, Hank Azaria, and Justin Long. The only thing about this movie I did not like was Steve the Pirate. That was a little much.

Probably one of the more genuinely funny comedies to come out in the last few years, that actually creates likeable, amusing characters. To me, this movie is further proof that Rip Torn is a comedy god, and that Vince Vaughn (and even Ben Stiller, imo) can be great with the right script.

Dodgeball is incredibly dull, the cast has no chemistry and most of the laughs are shallow. I was close to turning it off, there just wasn't anything worthwhile watching.

Idiotic, chauvinistic, racistic.. But still, I have to admit to my embaresement that I laughet out loud a couple of times, the movie had it's moments. Most of them thanks to Ben Stiller who actually is pretty hilarous as the supermacho-bad guy. Kind of like "Bring it on" gone really, really bad..

DodgeBall: A True Underdog Story is a funny movie. It's a film with a plot that only exists to set-up the inspirational speeches and jokes that are scattered throughout, but the plot is watchable. The performances, while all similar to one or more other characters, are good, and the jokes will usually make you laugh. If you want the main reason to watch DodgeBall, it's to see the numerous amounts of cameos from famous people. Trust me, they're worth it.

An awful sports film that's formulaic to a T. That would be fine as a parody, but this comes across as wholly earnest with its cliches. But ... it's hilarious. Maybe the bigger set-pieces are lacklustre, but everything in between is so consistent with little, but brilliantly funny dialogues, even amongst the less funny and more overdone characters (the other cast do better with restrained antics). I should've outgrown this film, but I haven't.

There were a few average part and some parts that were piss your pants funny. I have to say that the supporting cast is fantastic, but I really didn't care for Vince Vaughn. Stiller, Rip Torn, Tudyk, and Long all really stuck out to me as having fantastic performances. Also the bit roles for Chuck Norris, William Shatner, Jason Bateman, and David Hasselhoff all really added to the movie.

Dodgeball is hilarious. Vince Vaughn's deadpan humor is a great foil to Ben Stiller's over the top villain who seems intentionally similar to his Tony Perkis character from Heavy Weights. The supporting cast is fantastic as well, being comprised of dozens of totally unique characters. Really good!

In the genre of dumb comedies about lesser sports, this Vince Vaughn and Ben Stiller movie about dodgeball is one of the best. A sports movie about a group of love-able losers lead by a kind hearted slacker forced to overcome the odds as well as a cartoonishly evil adversary.

Good movie overall. I am not and never will be a fan of Ben Stiller. Just about any movie he's in hurts the movie's overall rating and appeal in my opinion. However, he wasnt awful in this one...he played his character, as it was meant to be, decently. Vince Vaughn was excellent as usual (albeit a reoccuring type of role for him). I laughed at this one...and have watched it more than once in my lifetime. Good flick and worth a look.
