Dog Days

Has its moments but uneven as hell.

Technically Dog Days is not a good film. It barely has any tension. It's cinematically bland. It runs too long with a tenuous narrative linked solely by conveniences. That said, it's a saccharine fluffy fantasy film that has a large, popular cast that does a fine job distracting you with their happy little tale. It doesn't push cinema, but it doesn't have to, and that's a good thing.
