I couldn't symphatize with director's creed in his story. His cinema doesn't seem to be original by borrowing some learned sequences from Romaninan New Wave such as the one in police station, nor by emphasizing that countryside has its own rules and there the civilized manners are useless and man is subordinated to a dog. So what? It has the potential to be a good western but Mirica's cinema is too learned and too riskless to go in that direction.

Saw it a few years ago and was surprised that a classic western recipe can be done successfully in romanian cinema.
