Dogville Confessions

2003
Documentary

Documentary on the creation of Lars von Trier's Dogville. Combines interviews with footage shot on location in winter-covered Sweden. From 'boxes of truth' (specially made like Catholic confessionals), all actors and Von Trier talked, cried, laughed, sung and confessed directly to the camera during shooting. Also contains deleted scenes from the feature film. The footage covers everything from idea to premiere. (imdb)

Not as insightful as I would have liked and more confessions from von Trier and Kidman would have been nice, especially to clarify why the former seems to have Bacall-anxiety, but it does its job as a film documentary and worth a watch for anyone who had any interest in "Dogville". Paul Bettany is still a boring bastard.
