I had no idea this existed until this morning so I went in as fresh as a turkey baster. Watching this blind guy move around and find things effortlessly while I'm here remembering that time I thought I lost the car keys I was holding.

More of the same, but much less well executed. Having the Old Man as the protagonist this time around didn't really work for me. He was a terrible person in the first one and trying to make him sympathetic felt a bit off. Not only that, but the thrill of the Old Man working out how to take advantage of the situation is less well utilised here. The little girl companion is mostly just there for conflict. The film felt dumber this time around and the bad guys too. Big step down from original.

The first film was a fairly innovative survival horror with blind Stephen Lang trapping a group of intruding teens in his house. His extremity and ruthlessness made him the villain. The sequel abandons the horror and is really just a very violent revenge thriller. It somewhat inexplicably forgets what made the first film even mildly compelling by abandoning the idea that Lang has designed his house to be a fortress allowing him to use his blindness to fight any intruders.

This movie asks one simple question: When's the last time you cheered for a rapist to win? Entertaining, but highly implausible with way too many conveniences to be taken seriously. Just so many questions about how he was able to get things done. Motherfucker acting like Daredevil out here. Don't Breathe 3 will just be him and 20 dogs vs. every gang member in Detroit

Don't Breathe 2 has a lot of questions to answer in regard to this direction it takes. Making Lang's character a sort of protagonist type is certainly weird, but I feel this does a good job of tugging on the idea of "who's should I root for?" As it has a few nice twists once again. It's not concerned with being overly violent or gross, but does provide some of that juice if you like it. Ultimately, this story was fun to follow, as a follow up, I think this does right by the original.

That story was honestly so weird that it makes you stretch your suspension of disbelief all the way to Timbuktu. (Unless of course you are in Timbuktu, in which case just pick a point far away from yourself) Some of the action is okay, but otherwise it just doesn't hold up to the original. More kills doesn't equal more thrills.

The first one was just a glorified home invasion movie with an inverted twist, and at the time that was good enough for a watch, but the sequel takes us into unexplored territory, and justifiably so. This second installment further blurs the line that separates good guys from bad guys, and while it rids itself of pretty much all of the intensity and any real hint of horror from the first, it's a thrill ride with some solidly entertaining twists. I honestly had a better time with this one.

More gory actioner than actually horror thriller, as he now deals with a gang of organ traffickers who are actually drug pushers -- kid is daughter of the couple who runs the business and they want her heart so they can cook again (mom is the cook). Everything after the cool Panic Room-ish home invasion kind of falls flat, although the cheap, abandoned motel climax provides some good thrills. Love the dogs and soundtrack. Lang's physical performance remains pretty intense.

It is not boring, but quite a let down after the first one. Not much left from the originality and on the edge of your seat viewing of the first one. Just a revenge/action flick that will just get lost in the bunch.

Weird unnecessary Sequel but fun overall. The First one is pretty perfect.

so stupid. why are they even trying to portray him as some sort of "hero" in this one? this just didn't work.

Interesting take on the sequel; same same but different. Not that bad of a take on a sequel for a "scary" movie, but could've done without it for sure. The first one was better. Young girl actor was not bad. In terms of story, the old man was painted to be the protagonist but that contradicts with how he was portrayed in the first movie. But I guess that's the spectrum of all human beings ay?

One of the more intense, with respect to gore and violence, movies that has hit the multiplex in a while. The end sequence in the pool filled with the red smoke was beautiful.

Slightly less interesting than the pretty mediocre first film mainly due to the stupid story.

As necessary as a hypothetical Titanic 2 movie. Don't Breathe was one of the few movies that didn't need a sequel. This is basically Don't Breathe with John Wick. And they even left room for a third movie! Fuck you!

I won't say much to give anything away other than say an excellent sequel (very rare in any genre). Also, I love that Stephen Lang gets a lead role in this series, after a long career.

A lot less "scary" than the first one. Less of a horror and more of a thriller genre exercise. A little long and repetitious in parts but still a lot of fun. Very few mainstream movies as misanthropic and sleazy. Some neat camera tricks and some cool set pieces (that end sequence in particular).

İlk filmdeki tecavüzcü bir karakteri bizlere başrol olarak sunmakla beraber ona sempati duymamızı istemeleri bir yana bu korkunç saçmalığa rağmen film, iyi bir öyküye bile sahip değil.

Stephen Lang for Best Actor 2021! haa just kidding. bold choice by this filmmaker to put us in ol Norm's position and make the climax visually incomprehensible and thus tremendously unsatisfying. just weird. let's put this franchise to bed and keep this Sayagues guy from attempting any more shit like this okay?

There is a considerable degree of thought that was put into this film's execution, which makes it flabbergasting that the script seems hell-bent on defying all logic. Every other thing that happens in this movie absolutely redefines self-defeatingly moronic. High-budget works of stupidity are fairly common, but this one goes to uncommon extremes.

While we're now seeing a lot of horror/thriller cliches start to pile up, this sequel truly does live up to the original and adds to it. Everything is just as depraved and dark as the first film, but with new turns in the plot that give it identity as its own film, plus a lot of clever expansion on how Norman's creativity and tenacity make his blindness, basically a nonissue for him. The pacing can feel very off at times but there's no denying how taught and intense the film is.

It definitely does not match the levels of intensity that the first one has. It never quite decides what it actually wants to be and therefore just always throws one more twist at you. A very non cohesive plot makes you care less about these characters and their circumstances and by the final act there is no good person or bad person. Everyone is a murderer, a liar and a manipulator. It doesn't quite make any sense really.

Remember that blind villain in Don't Breathe who was a rapist? Now in this one he is a loving father who doesn't kill dogs.

Lang does a good job once again, but it's difficult to cheer for him considering his past. Obviously we're cheering for the well-being of the girl, but for him to come out the other side isn't a priority per se. Somewhat cartoonish baddies. Decent set pieces. 6.4 for me.

In a surprising turn of events, DON'T BREATHE 2 is just as good as the first film....if not better, as it provided each role with a realistically complex character profile, and it does a unique juggling act, challenging the audience at home to decipher who they should trust or side with. The old man who knows how to tear his intruders to pieces, or his drugged out intruders, who are committing a crime by not only breaking and entering, but plotting a kidnapping. Very good sequel in my opinion.

I believe most viewers miss the point of this film; to give a second chance to people who have done heavy wrongdoings in their lives, that they are working on to become a better person.
