Extremely simple but effective premise, spun into a not quite as simple, but effective movie, which serves up a couple different takes on the timey wimey wibbly wobbly stuff, but not so many that it gets repetetive. Very sudden ending though; I, personally, could have used a bit of aftercare.

As "Ribcage" says, this "thriller" is more the fact that it is a thrilling powerhouse performance from Oyelowo who provides the movie with a believability that is not supported by either the poorly drawn minor characters, or the story itself. It COULD have been; the story is definitely ambitious (no, sorry, I cant explain it!) but it completely falls apart in the third act. If the bad guy has to say "you know why he was shot? Because he was honest!" you know some serious exposition is required!

found too much fun along the way to simply write it off.movie FEELS good when youre in it,even if thoughtful hindsight reveals only the plot flaws. I'll take a second look one day, just to see if it can be enjoyed on that visceral performance level, with foreknowledge that the final act is pathetic.want to rewatch disregarding the mystery&viewing it strictly for the powerhouse performance of Oyelowo as he goes through an emotional GAUNTLET. He creates emotion that otherwise wouldn't be there.
