Don't Look Now... We're Being Shot At!
An allied bomberplane is shot down over Paris by the Germans. Its crew (Terry Thomas as a flight captain) land there by parachute. With the help of some French civilians (Louis de Funès in the role of a conductor and Bourvil as a house painter) they try to escape over the demarcation line into the southern part of France, still not occupied by the Germans. Kameraden, wir reiten eine Attacke - chairs banging on the floor bop, bup, bop, bup, legendary! So far one of the greatest French comedies I've seen, and can't recollect if I've seen any other Bourvil or de Funes films, pretty sure not. Overall the movie is very silly but some moments are truly worth a laugh (around 3 to 4 for me, which is quite a lot).

After Le Corniaud, another masterpiece for the trio Oury - Bourvil - de Funès.

Oury's cinematic state of grace. It doesn't get much funnier - situations, dialogues, chemistry between actors, it all magically works. Even the endless reruns on TV cannot make me tire of watching this true comedy classic.

Usually when you get two great comics in one movie one of them starts overshadowing another, but de Funes' choleric energy and Bourvil's obtuse naivety works great together. Like all slapstick movies it is basically a series of gags and some of them are great, but unlike most films of this kind Grande Vadrouille has a strong story wrapping it all together. Maybe it's just a coincidence, but some plot elements in Inglorious Bastards are similar to this film.

Pretty enjoyable movie. I expected to laugh the whole time, but I didn't. Guess it's not my kind of humor. There were some really funny bits in it though. Also the conductor is hilarious

Great first 20-25 minutes due to de Funès. Bourvil is merely extremely annoying and not funny in the least. The film slowly sinks into stupidity once it leaves Paris
