I think Ashley Judd is stuck in some sort of timeloop in the late 90s. It would explain why a) she disappeared, and b) every few years, another piece of crap legal thriller from the 90s shows up with her face on it. A lot of this was filmed locally, including a car chase that's about a 3min walk away from my house. That's the main reason I watched the whole thing. It has a clever concept but it's just such a piece of shit. I am glad though that Tommy Lee Jones has moved on from movies like this.

I don't blame Jones, he is capable and watchable in almost anything. He is a working actor and will take just about any part for pay. Judd however is not very talented and was responsible for quite a few crappers.

Definitely an entertaining novel idea, albeit completely inaccurate. Ashley Judd and Tommy Lee Jones carry this otherwise cliched screenplay without much else. Greenwood was a good villain. The kids were wooden. I'm disappointed Angie died offscreen and didn't do much. Same with all sorts of other characters they introduced that either didn't serve a purpose (NOLA cops) or never went anywhere (prison friends; island cops). Fav scene: library computer guy; beautiful underwater and cemetery shots.

Derivative legal/revenge thriller that doesn't offer much you haven't already seen, but it's all competently done and Ashley Judd is very attractive. You could do worse.

this is Ashley Judd s big star vechicle..its basically the lifetime version of the Fugitive with a female and Tommy Lee Jones hamming it up in the same role he did for almost 9 movies...if you seen one of these movies you seen them all this offers nothing new or even close to being or trying to be original...lame

Watchable, but there's nothing terribly special about it. Judd's character is hard to pin down, going from normal to psychotic with little build up in between. Tommy Lee Jones is funny, but I don't think he's trying to be.

Double Jeopardy is a fun suspense movie. Ashley Judd and Tommy Lee Jones combine to make a great thriller where we can all root for Judd's character who is framed for the murder of her husband. I've seen this movie a handful of times and it's still fun whenever I watch it. There are parts that might have been fleshed out a bit more but that probably would have made the movie drag. I would have liked to see more at the jail with her fellow inmates and she should have tortured him more.

Quintessential 90s thriller runs with a ridiculous "high concept" and studs its cast with enough heavy hitters to try and conceal the holes; sluggish pacing (and god help us an insistence on taking the family drama aspect seriously) weigh it down, providing too much time to ponder improbabilities, and masking Judd's performance which pretty much hits the mark; Jones' sedate and sober lawman makes no impact, ditto Greenwood who largely underplays, but should have been playing to the cheap seats.

Should be shown to all law students as an educational tool. The funniest aspect of the non-orthodox interpretation of the eponymous principle is the way it is espoused by two characters who are both ex-lawyers, as though by putting this rather crazed notion in the mouths of two disreputable types, the audience may be more inclined to swallow the concept as nevertheless a reasonable premise on which to base a Hollywood thriller. Seemed as though the director had little interest in proceedings.

The message of GIRL POWER was hammered into my skull, as was Judd's lazy acting and the complete lack of any chemistry between anybody. It gets a 49 because it's still a good idea for a movie, and I love me some Tommy Lee Jones, even if he's just recycling his roles from The Fugitive and U.S. Marshals.

Not so much a thriller as a Lifetime Television movie. A bit like a boring "Not Without my Daughter", minus Sally Field. Beresford was apparently more interested in pretty shots of sea and mountains than actually directing his actors. Hard to believe this thing had a theatrical release--it should have been marketed as a chick flick.

Aside from some serious legal fallacies, this had all the ingredients for a seriously great crime drama. It just needed a way longer run time. In its current length, it's like a one episode long clip show of a good TV series.

Serviceable thrills served up by the pretty Ashley at a pace that leaves plenty of time for idle conversation & wondering why interest in the movie is rote as the script, which barely pulls out any surprises, except maybe that a girl this pretty is not likely to find herself using a big old truck as a weapon.

Trash. What about all the crimes she commits on her way to trying to kill her husband for real? What about the fact that a murder happens in a particular place, at a particular time, in a particular way, and she could still be charged with murdering her husband?

Sloppy writing makes for a few plot holes even for a casual viewer, and the titular premise comes to an awkward climax, but Judd's refreshing action star-a doesn't-give-a-fuck fugitive mom on a mission ("fuck your curfew!")-is a blast to watch, whether she's driving cars off of ferries or conning her way into expensive dinner parties. Jones' sarcastic and persistent parole officer on her trail adds some good humour, while a noticeable stringed soundtrack helps conjure up some emotion.
