The ending is so hilariously ludicrous it almost makes the rest of this turd worth watching. It doesn't, but almost.

Mistakenly rented this from pay per view thinking by title alone that it was a porno. Turns out most porno have better scripts, and acting.

Not since "Mac and Me"(1988) has "Coke-a-Cola"TM proved to be the real MVP by saving the day for our heroes. Similarly just like "Mac and Me", I'm forced to ask myself what exactly is this movie? How do I even rate this terrible trash? 2/3 of this movie is this wonky yet watchable cliché action/spy-thriller mess, however the last 1/3 of the film turns into a delightfully terrible action/comedy disaster. Which thanks to an exploding tiger, may just be one of the greatest endings in movie history

Despite having one of the most ludicrously awesome endings in all of the history of cinema, the movie was pretty dumb and poorly made everywhere else within its contents. It's overall a pretty generic 80's action movie{even though it was made in the 90's!} with nothing to really make it interesting or stand out.

Its strange to think that - once upon a time when Van Damme was a major star, Hong Kong action directors were in 'vogue' and a basketball player appeared in everything from this to wrestling - action films were this strange and insane. With complete disregard for plot points and a coherent tone (Mickey Rourke, as the villain, goes from a human baddie to a generic evil one and back again), its compelling in its randomness. The final fight managed to be ridiculous to the point it dumbfounded me.

The best kind of horrendous product placement takes place at the end. I don't want to spoil anything from this, such a valuable and essential film, but it is hilarious; actually everything from the finale is. To be fair, there's an endearing goofiness to a lot of what goes on throughout, but also an embarrassment if you're familiar with Hark Tsui's earlier work.

The story is low rent spy junk, and the dialogue is abysmal, full of bad puns that neither Van Damme or Rodman deliver with any degree of charm or conviction. It probably deserves a much lower score, but it's watchable crap due to Hark's stylistic flourishes which are often gratuitous yet create real energy in the film's key sequences. Rourke is underutilized, which is unfortunate, but the final fight scene between him and Van Damme in the Colosseum keeps it on the right side of terrible.

i don't know whether to give this a 100 or a 0. it could be the perfect action movie if you look at it one way, but there are so so so many things that are glaringly wrong with it, it's hard to justify any score. i would say this 10 is being generous. when DENNIS RODMAN rides in on a dirt bike to the floor of the colosseum to save jcvd's minutes old new born who has been kidnapped while avoiding a sniper, a tiger, and land-mines, something is very, very wrong.

Terrible, but never boring, and whether or not it's intentional this might be one of the funniest movies I've ever seen. Gotta give an artificially high score to something that makes me laugh so hard I'm in tears.

Why would anybody literate enough to write a review give this film such a high score? It was the major US debut of accomplished Hong Kong director Tsui Hark and stars JCVD at the nadir of his personal life, Rourke (recently returned from boxing), and Dennis Rodman in his last year as an NBA rebounding great / groin-kicker of cameramen (before the dress). Wildly entertaining, though not for the reasons it was intended to be. It might be genius? The ending defies description.

Viewed August 24, 2021. The action is far below the standards set by Tsui Hark (or additional choreographer Sammo Hung) but at least he fills every shot with as much color as possible, going so far as to have Rodman change his hair color in every single scene. This film walks a thin, thin line between annoyance and brilliance.

Could have been just another mediocre Van Damme movie with a ridiculous plot, but even a success that modest was completely soiled by Dennis Rodman, to add insult to injury, I probably would have just a little more leniency if he had been wearing a wedding dress.

Everyone involved in this must been high out there minds, that is the only explanation that nobody said let's not do that about 99% of the ideas for this. It's so absurd one could almost call it genius, if it wasn't so moronic. Harks directing compared to all this wackiness is less eccentric, but with enough stylish flourishes to increase the watchability. Luckily there are also a few good fights to enjoy. Unfortunately it's not enough to compensate for the complete lunacy that is Double

This entire movie is one big unintentional self parody by Van Damme and Dennis Rodman. For awhile in the 90's Rodman was godlike in his celebrity status because he was the "bad boy" flavor of the year. The result is Rodman/Van Damme vanity projects such as this churned out by coke addled Hollywood producers. It's a shame that Tsui Hark was roped into this because he can be a competent action director when he's not working with Hollywood.

I almost can't remember now if I saw this or just laughed at the cover. This was about when my dad was renting every Van Damme movie that came along and I didn't have anything better to do than to watch them... so I'll assume I watched it. it sounds sort of familiar.
