Double World

While the CGI is noticeable in this, especially often in the background, the fights are very decent and entertaining, which are the real and prime reason to watch this. Plus it has well done imaginative fantasy world and three sympathetic heroes.

Its fun fantasy style and pleasantly game-like plot are marred by unnecessarily rough deaths (the fridge conveniently spaced for the only two women in the film), and the fringes of the story (its politics and characterization) fail to really make sense, but all-in-all it's still an enjoyable, if undeniably flawed, watch.

Pretty standard modern wuxia fare; cut rate CG, ok fighting, and a minimally engaging plot. I get in a mood where that's really all I need, so I liked it just fine.

Underdeveloped plotlines and wholly unsatisfying and abrupt ending. This is a prime example of the story driving the characters, not characters driving the story. If you are in for the mindless action (that is kinda... meh), go for it. Don't expect to get attached to any of the characters.

I am not sure if I have ever seen a Chinese fantasy, but it is certainly most welcome. I have really liked it and will definitely be looking for more of this style. We get a satisfying mix of fantasy, adventure, martial arts romance in this movie. The story is a bit simple; however the atmosphere will keep you captivated until the end. I wish there was a dubbing to it. When it finally arrives, it's certainly worth a rewatch on my part. A solid choice if you want a good action or adventure movie.

Surprisingly sad for a movie with so many action scenes and a plot that shouldn't be examined too closely.
