SPOILER: They never lose! They always find an easy way out of every single problem its getting a bit annoying but it was still entertaining. I think there is still room for one final film set in America during the 1929 crash.

It improves upon the first one by actually having a story that supports three acts instead of relying on the (as usual, mostly great) dialogue.

"Downton Abbey: A New Era" is a beautiful continuation of the series, offering emotional closure for fans and advancing the characters in meaningful ways. Despite some minor flaws, the film is a delightful and charming viewing experience, with exceptional performances, beautiful production design, and a heartwarming story.

I don't love everything he does, but Fellowes is a brilliant writer. If the first 1 was The Motion Picture, this is Wrath of Khan. There's no time wasted catching non-fans up. He smartly separates the characters this time w/ 2 big plotlines to help manage his army of characters. Once again, he comes up w/ even more PLAUSIBLE, compelling, funny & moving character-shaping moments for characters who can't really change. He can even write how 2 gay men might meet back then. Fans should love this.

Downton is better with the comedy turned up and the drama turned down.

LOVED the series and now both sequel movies. They came up with yet another original story that makes sense for the times being represented. I'd recommend to only fans of the show and movies as there are so many characters and storylines it would really help to follow it all.

Overall it was a good and fun movie. I enjoyed it and am happy I saw it. However, overall it felt quite rushed and as a result, thin.

Having never watched the show, I enjoyed the 2019 film. This sequel is entertaining and beautiful but everything ties up too neatly. It's really a fantasy because it seems none of the characters are ever really unhappy.

Easy watching, enjoyable addition to the Downton saga.

A pleasant formula that still feels satisfying despite (or perhaps because of?) its staunch refusal to match the seriousness or urgency of our modern world. I disagree with those who say DOWNTON is inherently out of touch. On the contrary, its hoary wisdom about human nature still rings true regardless of era. Its ultimate arc is the fate of all generations, which have but a short time to affect change before inevitably feeling the pressures of maintaining stability.

Better than the first movie.

This is basically doing what a slasher/exploitation film does - providing exactly what the audience wants. It's a small step down from the previous film from what I can remember, but good enough time waster. At this point, there are so many characters, that it sets big limitations on the stories they can tell. I also doubt anyone who is not familiar with the series would get much out of these. Shout out to Dominic West who seems to be in everything these days.

Still good just because it's Downton Abbey - If you love it you love it and you love the characters, but they probably should have stopped after the first movie. *Recommendable.
