This is the second film based on the first Dragon Ball series. Much like with Curse of the Blood Rubies, this one takes after events from the manga/anime. There is more original material here, and the plot isn't overstuffed as the first movie was, so that's a relief. The Devil's Castle setting is atmospheric, and makes quite an impression on you in the movie's short runtime. Seeing some of the other supporting characters (Bulma, Oolong, Yamcha, etc.) get involved in the plot was appreciated too.

Another retelling, but this one feels rather disjointed and silly. Goku and Krillin have to go and find some princess and Yamcha and Bulma and them go along with and they find some demon and he wants to destroy the sun and suddenly Lunch is there and blah blah blah. It's got that Dragon Ball feel, but that doesn't make it good. Like the first movie, only watch if you're a completionist.
