While I'm fine with the re-imagining of Broly I found the movie as a whole to be overly episodic and generally underwhelming. It's really too bad I was hoping for a little more.

I was initially confused as to why they were doing another Broly film because he has appeared at least 3 times before. This film, however, does an incredible job of building the backstory and adding a bit of emotion. To this end, they use the characters and their personalities well to create something that is just more than powering up and battles. The obvious downside is that non-Dragon Ball fans won't be able to enjoy this as much but make this the one Dragon Ball movie to watch.

A noble soul is corrupted by the vengeful ambitions of his father. While the movie starts out as just another Dragon Ball story, it then turns into a superbly animated punch spectacle. As soon as the fight starts, the animations goes from average to literally some of the best animations I have seen in my time. They pump their entire budget into the fight. Therefore everything after the backstory introduction that isn't the fight looks really bad. The character dynamics are well done as well.

Probably the most visually stunning DB movie ever made. Doubt it will be topped. And hey, they actually gave Broly some character development instead of just being the definition of ROID RAGE! I mean, he still has that going on, but he gets better.

Everything I wanted in a Dragon Ball movie. It's good really good action, a good story, Broly. I really enjoyed the Broly view during the fighting scene. The movie's got a lot of shouting though, which is great if you wanted more shouting in Dragon Ball movies.

Pure energy. The yells per minute have not been exceeded in any of the other shows/movies. Power ups on point. Basically, Crank:High Voltage in animated form.
