Dragon Fist

I know most people won't agree but I actually like watching Jackie Chan in serious roles even the not that great Wei Lo ones. Martial Arts wise Jackie is at the top of his game, acting wise he seem to be unhappy which make sense since this was the last movie he did before going to Golden Harvest. The film manages to be mildly entertaining and had some good fights but for being under 90 minutes it feel really slow.

Jackie Chan plays a painfully naive Bruce Lee-clone in yet another Wei Lo time waster.

Clean plot with some good twists and great fights.

Serious Jackie Chan is not always the best Jackie Chan. This was made before Chan hit it big with Snake in the Eagle's Shadow and Drunken Master, and it feels every bit of that. Chan. is in full revenge mode without a hint of the wit or comedic person we would go onto love. The film is ok, but it doesn't really have anything that stands out.

It start as a very standard revenge plot. What sets this one apart is that the murderer has redeemed himself and became a righteous master before Jackie took his revenge. This sets him into an angry whirlwind about his revenge quest, which the real criminal villain use to trick him into teaming up with them. Of course during all this there characters trading punches and kicks to enjoy. But it is the almost revisionist take on the classic revenge plot which makes this an interesting watch.
