Another '8 Films to Die For' dud... when will I learn my lesson?

This wasn't bad at all. I didn't have a clue what it was about when I started watching - the story is pretty simple, it has a nice gore factor with some scenes that made me actually gag and the actors can act.

A premissa é interessante, mas a maneira com o filme a desenvolve é tediosa.

It is clear that more could have been done, especially to give more reverence to a film based on Clive Barker's work, but what is presented is still passable horror fare. There are some good performances and effects, but the sum of the parts seems highly unpolished.

Didn't grab me. Seemed overwrought.

Good. A surprisingly good and really well made psych-horror. Pretty solid story with good performances, decent development and suitable amount of blood and gore make this a very enjoyable, well directed film. Well recommended.

Boring... I kept waiting for something to happen, anything, but by the time things starting to happen, I just didn't care anymore.

Absolute bore with no real reason to have been made. Terible film. Just plain trash.

Top badass moment? It's pretty predictable and to be honest a bit weak in badass terms, but I suppose it's Stephen going off to try to find Cheryl after she'd been kidnapped. Not that it did either of them much good. He'd had the hots for her for ages anyway. I bet he wouldn't have bothered if it had been someone else, me for example. No cats, chainsaws or decapitations.

I watch many horror movies and have never understood the attraction of Clive Barker, whose work has always seemed too silly to be effective or interesting. So this is probably the most I've ever liked a film in any way connected to him. Though it could be said to share the rather dumb catharsis politics of 'Saw' and 'Fight Club' - Bianca O'Blivion wouldn't approve - it at least spares us the fairly crude authorial endorsements those films didn't really hesitate to award. All in all, not too bad.

Had to suspend my disbelief at the situations many times, but hardly the worst offender for that. Alright flick.

This is a sick movie, but at least it's got a story and some realistic acting. If you're into gore this is for you.
