Urban housing is a serious problem in Hong Kong, and the way this film looks at it - it's gory as hell too! Looking at the way this film is structured, it's like two completely different types of film are layered one after another over and over again. Part of it is a serious family drama, other part - over the top slasher. Interesting formula, but it doesn't work. Recommended if you are in the mood for stepped on eyeballs.

Top badass moment? This is a party political broadcast that really does highlight a progressive solution to the ever spiralling cost of housing, (although I personally felt it was a bit lacking in detail when it comes to the rental sector). I’ve only briefly ever owned one property, about 10 years ago, near Heathrow in London, on the shores of a lovely lake. But as all anarchists know all property is theft, so I sold it for about £3,000. Strange but true. No cats, chainsaws or decapitations.

Total gore fest, there's a story in there somewhere but it's buried under a pile of entrails and eyeballs.

I'd say it's an effective critique of capitalism. However, I'm afraid that the gore is exploitative. It could probably have been toned down a little without the film losing too much thematic impact.

If they would have splashed out less on the gore, I would have rated it higher.

A fun slasher with a very odd and unbalanced nature, but I liked it.

After a years worth of toil and money, I finally managed to get my hands on this...and was really fucking disappointed. Playing out very much like a 70s slasher, with a satirical real estate twist, "Dream Home" offers up an uneasy balance of serious drama and gore, intertwined with an unlikable protagonist and regular flashbacks. Considering the subject matter, the film takes itself way too seriously and the gore is subpar, even in the pregnant woman and castration scenes. Awful tagline.

Wow, I had heard good things about this movie and went into it with high expectations and I wasn't let down. This is a great horror movie but better than that it a great film period. The main part of the movie takes place during a 2 hour time period and is filled with flash backs through out, which brings depth to the main character. The movie s very gory and becomes more so as it goes on. There is plenty of black humor and drama as well to help balance things out and even most of the minor char

Some very innovative and well executed kill scenes (if one is into that sort of thing), some not at all subtle social and a plot that has basically run it’s course in the first 15 minutes.

The extreme violence and graphic suffering are without purpose and the killer's motivations are ridiculous. I felt uncomfortable multiple times and that's already saying something for me (awkward kudos to the filmmaker?)... However, it is so intense, hardcore, and brutal that it is worth a watch, to be included in any slasher movie night!
