Dreams with Sharp Teeth

Belligerently opinionated, irredeemably smug, & even contemptuous of most of his fan base it's hard 2 believe Ellison has as many great friends as he says. 1 also has 2 wonder whether no small degree of his fame comes from his "shtick" since the excerpts of writing chosen r good, but not all that impressive either. Fortunately he's armed w/ enough intelligence & humorous anecdotes 2 make spending 90 mins watching his 1-sided hectoring interactions & thoughtful pontifications fairly entertaining

Incredibly entertaining to see who Harlan Ellison is as a person. Yes he can be an absolute jerk but he's still a very colourful character that has a lot of good points to be made. Of course one cannot forget the tremendous amount of work he has put forth either. Great watch if you're a fan or if you've never even heard of him.

A super-entertaining movie about the curmudgeon of Sci-Fi, Harlan Ellison. Adds a level of depth to the man that the newspaper blurbs on his wacky behavior never reach.

Harlan Ellison is one of those in regards to whom the phrase "dying breed" springs sadly to mind (but also the phrase "one of a kind", which suggests we're not talking about a breed at all), one of the key causes of which is no doubt the glass teat. Enjoyable and interesting, but could perhaps have probed a little deeper.
