"I never disrobe before a gunfight." Exhilaratingly sleazy, over-the-top action-horror insanity, shot in absolutely gorgeous 3-D. It contains a stunning amount of visual pizazz for a movie about pissed-off stunt drivers from beyond the grave, as well as another in a long line of epically unhinged Cage performances. Never for a second does it take itself seriously, and never for a second is it not irresistible.

In this film, Nic Cage turns an innocent young woman into a fugitive cop-killer and forces her to take care of a baby that isn't her own. That's the happy ending.

It's everything you expect. It has a shitty story, cornball dialogue, lots of violence, and Nicolas Cage hamming it up. The 3D is actually a very nice touch (especially the flashback scene, Jesus), and Amber Heard is a nice change of pace from the usual helpless or annoying action vixens. I usually enjoy William Fichtner quite a bit, and he is an unbelievably charismatic scene-stealer here. Lots of fun.

I wouldn't call Drive Angry a good movie. It sets out what it attempts to do: make and over-the-top grindhouse film of absurdity. However Nicolas Cage is nothing special. Thankfully William Fichtner is absolutely superb and every single scene he is in is an absolute highlight and makes the film worth seeing once. Plus Amber Heard is pretty hot so that's cool.

Wow, you gotta love Nicolas Cage. He's becoming the king of B-movies now. I enjoyed this movie, maybe the story is strange, but they stick to it no matter what. It is a strange but fun mix of grindhouse, Carmageddon (yes, that game), gore and action. I don't think it'll become a cult movie, but Cage still got a nose for doing weird flicks. PS, Hobo with a shotgun, eat your heart out, this is how you make a fun film

Don't be confused by the rating; while this movie is bad, it embraces it and works toward it. It's terrible, but it's the most fun piece of trash I've ever seen. The blatant 3D effects become hilarious if you're watching it in 2D.

As trashy as I expected, as exciting as I had hoped, and as Nicolas Cage-y as Nicolas Cage can get. I really dug it. The story was interesting enough, good performances and the characters were to the point of being funny in their stereotypes which is clearly what the flick was going for, so a big win there. The flick lives and dies on the performances and, luckily, the performances here are very solid in a less-standard definition. Fichtner and Cage were born to be on the same screen together.

Has it's moments and William Fichtner is my Kevin Bacon! But with lines like "Two days is like a decade in horny fucker years", "He fucked me while he killed them, I've never tried that before" and a song named "Fuck the Pain Away" it kind of sets the tone!

Came in for some good Cage trash and wasn't disappointed. Wouldn't have minded it if Nic's hair was more insane looking but the extensions he had put in were pretty hilarious. Listening to Bill Simmons and Adam Carolla talk about this movie makes it a lot more enjoyable as well (also listen to them talk about Fast Five, pure gold). I love watching 3D movies in non 3D as well, something about random shit flying at the screen is so funny to me. I also have no idea what the plot of this film was

Nathan Rabin is right -- William Fichtner would have won a Supporting Actor Oscar if he wasn't in a movie called "Drive Angry." Nic Cage's hair is a bird, and he's named John Milton in unsubtlety fitting of a movie called "Drive Angry." Tom Atkins shows up -- a clear indicator of the influences at play -- wearing a shirt that says Snape Kills Dumbledore. Its greatest flaw is that many people are called "dickless" yet no one gets shot in the dick. It's a movie called "Drive Angry."

Everyone is awesome, it's cheesy when it has to be, badass when it has to be. The action is fantastic, there are some great lines, great visuals, some great jokes. Not that the movie is genius, but I like its treatment of "satanism" more than most Hollywood flicks. At least it tried to be a little smarter with it.

If not for Amber Heard, I'd be giving my bottom grade, but against all odds she did a pretty good job... emphasis on 'pretty' ;-) No seriously, pun aside and all things considered, she did show great potential. The only thing to take with us from Drive Angry is hoping to see Heard get an honest shot at a breakthrough role, i.e. with a script written by more competent writers, so that she does not have to rely on her looks and knocking naked women out cold in subpar productions like Drive Angry.

Looking for a movie that delivers a squealing guitar lick every time its protagonist shoots or punches a bad guy? Look no further. The movie looks a little too clean and crisp for its subject matter -- a little grit, grime and grain in the picture would have earned a lot of style points from this viewer -- but the movie begins with Nic Cage driving a car out of hell and is unrelenting in its joyous stupidity from there. So, I mean, you know. It is what it is, a mindless Beer & Boys Night flick.

A healthy handful of garbage sprinkled with shredded ham, also known as William Fichtner's bombastic but occasionally droll role. The metal soundtrack is criminally generic and the action scenes are yawn-worthy. Nicolas Cage is tragically subdued and uninteresting, and nobody else really gives a stab at taking up the crazy-reins. It's a petulant film made for 12-year-old boys who think this is what 17-year-old boys like to watch, and thusly must attempt to enjoy. A waste.

How can you dislike a film where Nicolas Cage plays a white trash escapee from hell on a rampage fighting a satan worshipping elvis lookalike, cultists, a demonic bounty hunter, and the action is so over the top it's gut splittingly hilarious throughout. This is how you do schlock. It's unapologetic, brutal, and just plain great. The action is so absurd in its pandering to the 3d gimmick but yet glorious at the same time. Have a few beers first though.

Saw this again recently and have revised my score upwards. It still tries too hard to be grindhouse, but there's a lot of fun to be had along the way. It's basically Cage's Ghost Rider but with zero fucks given. There's action, gore, some snappy dialog and it rushes along at a non-stop pace. Cage Cages it up to his usual standards, as do the rest of the cast who are obviously having a blast.

I like Cage, Fichtner, Heard, I like OTT ridiculousness. I also like Morse who I didn't know was in the movie (nice surprise but throwaway part). So, naturally, I quite liked this - I didn't love it, as I had hoped, but it was still a good time, with hilarious violence and dialogue and nudity. That Heard did not engage in the latter was a disappointment, but I liked both her and her character in the film anyway, she had some funny lines and fucked some people up. Cool cool cool.

Nick Cage as a badass (no, really?) who comes back from hell, it's been done, but not enough to make me nor the majority of the rest of the population bored with the concept. There's an evil/crazy cult and a kick-ass supernatural gun. Thus, a popcorn action flick is born.

See, this is tricky to rate. It's very stupid and has it's bad bits, but it all but waves at the camera whilst doing them. Nicolas Cage is on his "good crazy" vibe here and Amber Heard is pretty. The real saving grace of the film is William Fitchtner. I'd be happy to see a sequal around him and his character. If you want an action film that doesn't hang around too long, try this. If that's faint praise, well, look at the score.

A tepid ride of nonplussment which on paper merely runs through a checklist of genre clichés, but on screen manages to combine these into a woefully ill-executed car crash of B-grade unoriginality. Nicolas Cage is simply terrible in this role, but it's the action sequences which stand out for their lack of visual flair and poor or by-the-numbers execution. It has a few ballsy moments, but these are nullified by drinking a beer out of a skull (clearly the epitome of cool in the director's eyes).

i liked its simplicity and explicitness right away. whats not to like, when an extremely attractive female whips a 69 dodge charger down the road, all the while singing to "fuck the pain away"? but there were also indications (nicolas cage) that this could go downhill any minute now. which it did. and so it steadily became an inconsequential mashup of car chases and shootouts, some stylish ideas here and there (really liked the accountant), but mostly totally forgettable.

Drive Angry falls unfortunately short of the campy, grindhouse style it seems to be aiming for largely by how uninspired it all is, ripping off better movies like Shoot Em Up, but dropping all of the energy and having one of the most bland cliche villians who wouldn't qualify as a henchman in a good movie. Between this and Faster, I'm hoping for a moratorium on car focused revenge films

It's always possible to make it through something that's packed with action, but being compelled doesn't make the experience pleasant. Drive Angry seems to be aimed at a male age 13 audience, but I can't even imagine how a boy of that age could find it anything more than infantile. It isn't just over-the-top pulp; while containing nothing that we haven't seen a million times before, it does seem to take stupidity to a whole new level.

B-Movies have been back in a big way as of late. 'Drive Angry' does it just as well, if 'well' is the proper term to use for this genre, as any other out there. The effects are cheesy. Nic Cage and Amber Heard are cheesy. The dialogue is cheesy. Still, it keeps you watching and relatively entertained. The one element of this flick that transcends the material is William Fichtner.
